Publisher: Slave Labor Graphics

Started in 1986 by Dan Vado, SLG (Slave Labor Graphics) has published many strange and offbeat titles such as Samurai Penguin by Dan and Mark Buck, the groundbreaking Milk and Cheese by Evan Dorkin, and Roman Dirge's Lenore. The company grew and flourished in the mid-eighties during a period of increased interest in indepent comic book publishers, selling out entire runs of their books to many retailers. While most of their titles are originals, in 2005 SLG partnered with Walt Disney to create comic series based on several popular Disney films including Haunted Mansion, Wonderland, Tron and Gargoyles. Some of SLG's original titles such as Kid Gravity and Little Gloomy have since in turn appeared in Disney Adventures Magazine.
